Hi.

Welcome To All Christ All The Time! A ministry dedicated to empowering the church with the simple proclamation of the finished work of Christ!

Understanding The Concept of "Us"

Understanding The Concept of "Us"

1 Corinthians 6:17

But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.

Beloved, the apostle Paul in this passage of Scripture is revealing to us a mystery once hidden, but now revealed to us, and this mystery is that we are one with Christ! We have been perfectly united with Jesus! Not because we are morally acceptable, nor because we deserve this glorious honor, but because God decided long ago that He desires to be with us, perfectly united, once and once for all! We have become “one flesh” as it were with our Beloved (Eph 5:30-32)!

God predetermined that after the cleansing of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, He would infuse His essence to ours and become eternally interlinked with us His precious children! You see, God never created man to live apart from Him, living life in a feeble attempt to reach out to God and satisfy Him by our works; rather God loves this idea of “us!” He loves the concept of His infallibility mingling with, yet never overriding, our fallibility. He enjoys what is produced by His divinity operating in union with our humanity! It is the most glorious aspect of His genius!

We see this obsession of His on display in the Bible! Not merely in the stories on the pages, but even in the creation of the holy text itself! Beloved have you ever considered how the Bible is both human and divine? How God inspired men to write such an eclectic compilation of literature? God inspired men, but never possessed them, He guided them gently with divine suggestions, holy nudges if you will, but He never overpowered the humanity of the agency He commissioned! God is not afraid of human frailty, but rather He fully embraces it! He makes atonement for our mistakes of course, but not in an effort to remove our humanness, but rather in an effort to embrace it completely for what it is, as it is, beautiful in His sight, worthy of love, and worthy of preserving. Even if preserving it means enduring excruciating suffering to the point of gruesome death!

My point is this: It was God’s idea to unite Himself to you for all eternity! He is not in there swimming about so He can point out your blemishes and fine tune you into a better you! He is in you because, well, He loves you! He likes you! He sincerely enjoys to be with you, and to be a part of every single moment of your life! As a good Father He wants to be there for you, to care for you, help you, guide you, and cheer you on! He just wants you! So much so that He has made your heart His home!

God doesn’t like the idea of you operating apart from His presence and influence. He doesn’t like the idea of you working for Him! He loves the idea of you and Him flowing in sweet harmony like a seasoned symphony. He likes it when you are in tune with Him, depending on Him, leaning deeper into Him! This is His preferred method of everyday living! This is true Christian living! Christianity is not about five ways to a better you! Nor is it about the six keys to overcoming, but rather He prefers this beautiful song that can only be sung when you harmonize with Him!

“Christ has become your life” is a central assertion of Paul’s revelation (Col 3:3-4; 1 Cor 1:30-31; Gal 2:20). Jesus Himself agrees when He reveals that fruit cannot be produced by the branch, but must be produced by the vine while the branch has the task of merely bearing the fruit (Jn 15:5). God loves this idea of “us,” in which He is perfectly infused with you and you with Him and both He and you operate in perfect harmony! Your job is to trust in Him, His life within you, and allow Him to sustain, animate, and motivate you!

Is this not the most splendid of revelations? It means that we can adjust our thinking and free our minds from this slave mentality propagated in most churches, and choose to relax, kick our feet up, and rest in Him knowing that we are one! We can be confident in Christ within us and move in boldness as lights beaming in the darkness knowing that the light of Christ is our source! Beloved receive this today and begin to revel in the glory that is the genius of God!
